THE OLYMPIC CLUB Micro-perforated Acoustical Ceilings
Ceiling Project: Established in 1860 in San Francisco, The Olympic Club enjoys the distinction of being America’s oldest athletic club. In 2004, the renovation of the City Clubhouse building included the use of NEWMAT in white matte finish for the newly rebuilt pool area.
For this ceiling project, NEWMAT was chosen for its resistance to humidity and chlorine together with its lightweight advantage. In addition, the designer utilized NEW/ACOUSTIC, NEWMAT micro-perforated ceiling membranes, for its acoustical value.
Finally, the high light reflectance of the NEWMAT ceiling membrane allowed the designer to use indirect lighting for this intricate installation. (Photographs taken with the permission of the Olympic Club).
